Recruitment and selection

Polned Uitzendbureau recruits its employees from the whole of Europe, via various channels. Thanks to these channels and the years of experience, Polned has an extensive pool of suitable candidates, from which we select an appropriate candidate. On the basis of the profile required and any additional criteria of the customer, a suitable match is made. When the right employee has been found, this employee is introduced to the company. 

Candidates are prepared as well as possible for the working conditions and the housing and living situation in the Netherlands. They are well informed about the requirements which employers set for temporary employees.

Supplying temporary employees and secondment

In the case of temporary work, there are always three parties: the temporary employee, the temporary employment agency and the company for which the temporary employee works (the hirer). The temporary employment agency is responsible for the recruitment, selection and administrative matters, but the temporary employee works under the management and supervision of the hirer. 

Supplying temporary employees and secondment are very similar to each other. The main difference between the two is that the secondment agreement takes place between the temporary employment agency and the temporary employee, even when the assignment (the work) has ended. 

Polned Uitzendbureau mainly uses secondment agreements, in order to offer its employees more certainty. On average, the employees stay and work four to six weeks in the Netherlands and then have one or two weeks’ leave. This cycle then continues during the year. Of course, the actual holiday planning is determined in consultation with customers and employees. Many temporary employees return to the Netherlands on a regular basis in order to work for companies in the region. Polned is a reliable and solid company for both customers and employees. This is apparent from for instance the low turnover of temporary employees and the years of collaboration with various customers. 

Outsourcing and custom-made projects

In our aim to add value to the chain and fully take over customers’ cares, we offer the possibility of outsourcing and custom-made projects. 

Outsourcing, also referred to as contracting, is a type of service whereby the contractor as contracted party is responsible for a part of the production for the customer. That part of the production is outsourced as it were to the contractor. In that case, Polned is not only responsible for the mediation of personnel (as in the case of supplying temporary employees), but the customer also obliges Polned to achieve a particular result in the working activities. In the case of outsourcing/contracting, the management and the supervision of the personnel lie with Polned (the contractor). 

We offer customers the possibility to outsource its production to us, fully or partially. Polned searches for a suitable solution to every request, for instance taking on projects in various forms such as: assembly/rigging work, packing/repacking, maintenance work, painting, et cetera.

Training

Training

Within the framework of the personal development of our employees and the added value which they supply within the production process of our customers, we see it as an important aspect of our operational management to train the employees where necessary. For instance, we offer various training courses and the chance to obtain the accompanying certificates (VCA Safety, Health and Environment, forklift driver, engine driver, Dutch language certificate), as well as sector-specific training courses. A training plan is drawn up, in consultation with the customer and employee.

Housing

Members of the Federation of Private Employment Agencies who work with migrant workers and have their own accommodation locations available for them must meet the uniform national housing standards of the Foundation for Flexible Housing Standards [Stichting Normering Flexwonen; SNF] which are also laid down in the Federation of Private Employment Agencies collective agreement for Temporary employees. An independent body checks whether these housing standards are correctly applied by members. Polned has the SNF certificate and therefore shows that it also takes proper care of its employees in the area of housing and meets the standards set. 

Every house has spacious bedrooms and living rooms and good cooking and sanitary facilities. In addition, sufficient fire safety measures have been taken. The houses are located in a rural setting, in the Brabant Kempen region, with many possibilities for relaxation. There are always enough shops in the neighbourhood for buying food groceries and suchlike.

Transport

Transport

Polned has an extensive fleet, which includes minibuses and passenger cars, with which to transport the employees and which they can use for their work. We continually monitor the quality of our fleet, so that employees arrive at their work safely and on time. Depending on the situation, employees are given a vehicle to use, and in other cases transport is provided by Polned. 

For transport from their homeland to the Netherlands and back, employees have the possibility of using transport organized by Polned, arranged by professional passenger transport companies. This gives us the assurance that our people are transported in a proper and safe manner. In addition, our customers are also assured that the employees will return to their work on time, after a well-earned period of leave. 

Support

From the moment that the employees arrive in the Netherlands, they are taken care of and supported by intermediaries. They are accommodated in furnished housing, with all facilities provided. The TV can receive Polish programmes, there is a telephone for calling family members and there is a WiFi connection available. Furthermore, we provide a social services (BSN) number and we register our employees with various bodies, for the purpose of the Social Security and Health insurance. We also have a fixed family doctor and dentist available, so that adequate medical care for the employees is always guaranteed. 

During the first days with their new employer, the temporary employees receive support from the intermediaries. It is vitally important that the employees know what is required of them and feel at home here as soon as possible. Since the intermediaries are bilingual, this process takes places smoothly. In addition, it is also important for new customers that they receive good support in dealing with international workforces. A good international employment facilitator offers total support in housing, working and living.
